08/07/2008 | Ditec sliding doors, in touch with the future
Milano Santa Giulia. The new ideal district in Milan takes off with “Volo”, Ditec curved sliding door.
The background of the ideal city
The background of Milano Santa Giulia starts from the closure of Montedison and Acciaierie Redaelli, a chemical and steel production factory respectively, in the south-east area of Milan. Several building projects have been submitted to reclaim and rebuild the area. The selected project was the most global and consistent project for the Montecity and Rogoredo areas. This project will bring to life Milano Santa Giulia, a totally new district in Milan which, given its features, many people have already named “a city within the city”. It will be seamlessly integrated in the current urban environment, but will be boasting modern and functional features.
Milano Santa Giulia will host residential, commercial, hospitality and sporting facilities, all designed with human needs in mind, connected with the city centre and surrounded by green areas: a really ideal city.
The project
The Milano Santa Giulia project has been thought out with people who will live and work in mind. It will be a truly liveable environment. The green areas will be large and will be provided with facilities, the cars will follow dedicated routes, often underground, pedestrians will have large areas for their own use. The social scene will be centred around the pedestrian promenade, which is 600 meters long and boasts impressive buildings, full of shops and useful services.
The size of the area
Milano Santa Giulia covers an area of 1.200.000 sqm. This is also the reason why it is called “a city within the city”.
Foster and Partners
The project has been commissioned to one of the top modern architect: Norman Foster. The company the entire project has been assigned to gives it an international appeal and marks the beginning of a prestigious co-operation with some of the top architectural practices in the world.
Ditec is already there
The company given the task of promoting and developing the area opens the doors to the future with Ditec. The entrance of its head office, in fact, specifically designed to take care of the operating development of this major project has been fitted with two Ditec automatic doors; the curved door Volo, internally matched with the sliding door Ten.
The elegance of this curved moving door, together with its quiet operation and the smoothness of DITEC automations give this entrance a smart and prestigious look.
The full height of Volo and Ten automation is only 10cm.
Reliable, thanks to well proven DITEC electro-mechanical components, quiet, thanks to the synthetic drive belts and reinforced nylon wheels, and safe, thanks to the microprocessor based electronic panels, they make optimal use of the available space.
Volo and Ten are designed and manufactured in Italy by DITEC, they are TÜV certified and are supplied complete with safety, control and monitoring accessories, fully compliant with all current standards.
